Keen Games is resetting every character's skill tree with 1.0, because skills were added and moved around. Their advice is blunt: spend your points before you leave your base. If you play a mage, read the mage build guide first; the new summon skills are covered in the summoner guide.
Eternal spells change too. In 1.0 there are 22 tier 7 Eternal versions, and you can upgrade them with perks the way you upgrade weapons and armor. The Eternal spells page explains what that means and will list where each one comes from once we have confirmed it in the release build.
What changed lately
- Site launched with pre-release mage, summoner and Eternal spell guides.
- Keen Games published the 1.0 combat changes: nine new spells, summons, upgradeable Eternal spells and a skill tree reset.
- Steam price rose by €10 to €39.99, as announced on August 31.
- Keen Games set October 15, 2026 for 1.0 on PC, PS5 and PS5 Pro. Xbox Series X|S is planned for spring 2027.
Enshrouded FAQ
Can I play Enshrouded for free?
No. Enshrouded is a paid game, not free-to-play. On Steam it costs $39.99 / €39.99 after Keen Games raised the price by €10 on September 8, 2026.
Is Enshrouded worth playing solo?
You can play it entirely on your own: Steam lists it as single-player as well as online co-op, and difficulty is adjustable. Co-op is optional and supports up to 16 players.
Are people still playing Enshrouded?
Yes. Keen Games said in June 2026 that more than 5 million players had tried it in Early Access, and Steam showed about 3,400 people in game when we checked on October 1, 2026, two weeks before the 1.0 launch on October 15.
Is Enshrouded a good game?
Steam players rate it Very Positive: 91,014 of 106,088 user reviews (about 86%) were positive as of October 1, 2026. That covers the Early Access versions; 1.0 reviews start on October 15.
